A recent report put out by the SBA's Office of Advocacy found that veterans are 45% more likely to be self-employed than those that did not serve. The report addresses the question of whether the propensity for veteran entrepreneurship is a result of nature or nurture. The "nature" argument concludes that those endowed with the entrepreneurial spirit are more likely to be attracted to military service in the first place. The "nurture" argument concludes that military training, teamwork and leadership uniquely qualifies one for entrepreneurship. What say you?
